The kitchen was fully remodeled to allow two cooks to operate simultaneously without getting into each other’s way. A beautiful front porch & a large deck which overlooks the private backyard with a fire pit. All for the guests to enjoy.

The second floor is currently dedicated to the owners' living quarters. It has a family room, office, and storage/utility room. It also features a large (16x40) master bedroom suite that could easily be designated a fifth guest suite.

The third floor has two bedrooms, each with private baths, (which were occupied by the family children until they grew up and moved on with their lives) and a common sitting room. At this time the owners enjoy 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. There is potential for two additional guest bedrooms & baths should the new owners wish to move their living accommodations to the third floor and convert the existing office or family room. New York State code allows transient accommodations (hotels, inns and Bed and Breakfasts) without expensive fire abatement infrastructure, on the first or second floor.

Brief History

The main brick structure of the inn was constructed in approximately 1796 as a two story farm house. The roof was "popped" and a third story added in 1819 to support the growing stage coach traffic along what is now State Route 96. In 1951 the dark red brick addition on the west end was added to supplement The York Inn restaurant, which operated from 1948 until 1988.

In 2000 the Latch family purchased the inn with the intention of turning the building into a Bed and Breakfast. Opening with a single guest room in 2003, The Yorkshire Inn has operated as a successful Bed and Breakfast ever since. It took the family four years to complete the initial remodel, which resulted in two functioning guest rooms, each with private baths. In 2013 the family remodeled the old restaurant banquet room into two additional guest rooms, a large gathering room, and a second utility/laundry room.

Guest Room Summary

All guest rooms are on the first floor with no steps or stairs from the large parking lot to any of the rooms.

Blue Room

The blue room sleeps 2 and features a wall of south facing windows overlooking the deck and back yard. The private bath features an oversized standup shower.

Bolero Room

The Bolero is our premium, private, romantic suite. It sleeps two in style and comfort with an oversized bath featuring a two person jacuzzi tub and individual shower.

Lodge Suite

The Lodge is a two bedroom suite that sleeps up to 6 individuals. It is trimmed in rough sawn cedar and features a traditonal bath with a tub and shower combination.

Rose Suite

The Rose Suite is a two bedroom suite that sleeps up to 6 individuals. It also has large windows overlooking the deck and back yard. It has a second door that opens directly onto the deck. The private bath features an oversized standup shower.
